As a commissioner I want to make sure that we are good stewards of your tax dollars. I want our county government to deliver services to our citizens in a professional and courteous manner - in a timely and efficient fashion

As a citizen of Buncombe County, I am concerned with the same things that you are

• I want the best education for the children of Buncombe County. We need to fund our schools, and pay our teachers, in a manner that will promote excellence.

• I am supportive of Buncombe County continuing to recruit and incentivise companies that will pay a living wage; offer a basic employee benefit package, including health insurance; and be environmentally friendly.

• I am concerned about the loss of working farms and the development of our mountains. As a Commissioner, I have supported the Buncombe County land Conservation Advisory Board and placed over 2, 000 acres of farm land and mountain land into conservation easements.

• I will continue to be supportive of PROJECT ACCESS which provides medical care for your uninsured and most needy Citizens. This program, PROJECT ACCESS, which was initiated and supported by Buncombe County Commissioners, has become a national model.
